I’ve spent a good amount of time in Paris and its surrounding areas, having first been there at age 12 on a school trip, living in a suburb of the city for a summer and having been back to visit a few times since. So, you’d think I’d be sick of it there, right?
Oh, how little you know me.
Paris never gets old. In my opinion, it’s one of the grandest cities in all the world, with that vibe that people think of when they picture a beautiful European city. It has its boulevards with intricate architecture and winding alleys and streets with more shops, galleries and (my favorite) bakeries than you can ever try. With twenty arrondissements, each with their own personality and style, this massive city can entertain you well into eternity.
So what are the things you MUST DO in Paris? Here’s my list of unmissables:
1. Museums: Le Centre Pompidou for modern art, Le Louvre for art in general, Le Musee d’Orsay in the old train station and L’Orangerie for amazing Monet paintings. These four museums have enough art in them to keep you occupied for the next 14 years.
3. Shopping: Le Marais for vintage shops and hidden gems, Galeries Lafayette for the mega department store, Montmartre for buying one of a kind art at hole in the wall galleries and the Champs Elysees for literally everything from Louis Vuitton to cheap tourist trinkets
…Stay tuned later in the week when I share the guide to Paris given to me by a local Parisian for the best restaurants, bars and things to do in this amazing city.
